Inspection & Quality Control

Welding inspections before, during and after welding according to the ITP, with non-conformity management and full traceability.

Inspection and QC

Inspection at every stage of welding

Inspections are carried out before, during and after welding, according to the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP). Deviations are recorded and corrected before they become costly repairs.

  • Pre-welding, in-process and post-welding inspections according to the ITP
  • Non-conformities highlighted, with corrective actions proposed
  • Identification and traceability
  • Weld geometry and size checked against the welding symbol on the drawing and the WPS
  • Weld surface, transition area and the area next to the weld checked
  • QC inspector and QC supervisor roles

Key terms

How quality is controlled

Inspection and Test Plan

The ITP lists every inspection and test, who performs it and when, including hold and witness points agreed with the client.

Non-conformities

When a weld or a document does not meet the requirements, it is recorded, the cause is identified and a corrective action is proposed.

Traceability

Each weld can be traced back to its welder, procedure, consumables and inspection records.
